VIVA BEERS
The Viva beers are elaborated by Cercasa Viva in Arinaga, Gran Canaria. They are natural; no preservatives or additives are added. They are brewed according to the purity law (Reinheitsgebot, Germany).
We offer 8 different types:
Lager (draft) "Eres un puntal"
The name means: "you're great"
The beer is mild and refreshing. 4,8%.
Premium pilsen "Soy de aquí"
This means "I'm local"
This pilsen contains more hop than the lager and therefore the taste has a touch of bitter. 5,2%.
Beer with lemon, or Radler, "Solaja y Salitre"
Solaja is a Canarian word. It refers to very intensive and unbearable light and heat. Salitre refers to the sea and the salt.
It is a refreshing beer with an added lemon flavor and aroma. (it is the only one that does not strictly comply with the purity law). 2.5%
Pale Ale "Let's go Canaries"
A pale ale as it should be, non filtered with natural tangerine aromas, that leave a fruity and citrus taste. 5,2%
Dark Ale "La Morena"
This "tanned lady" (beer is a feminine word in Spanish) contains roasted malt. It has a somewhat mild and caramelized taste. 5,5%
Especial "Somos Costeros"
The name refers to one of the most famous Canarian traditional songs. Literally it means "we're people from the coast and waves".
The beer is the brewery's pearl, the best sold. It's in fact a blond ale with a lot of body and a full taste. 6,5%
Trigo
Traditional non filtered wheat beer (weissen) with citrus tones and yeast. 5%
Negra "Happiness"
Apears to be a stout, but is not really. Certainly it is very very nice, black with an aroma of coffee and a surprising taste. 5%
